Any prayers to say or tips on where to tap it with a hammer works for me too.You will need to install the Lightscribe System Software driver first (Required) and either the Lightscribe Template Labeler (Recommended) or the Lightscribe Simple Labeler. but why then is my internal not being allowed to recognize and burn?Īny solutions, help advice is appreciated. I have called OWC and the tech believes it may be a failing enclosure with the external. I have tried searching the forums and internet with narya solution to my problem. I am updated and current on all OS and programs.
I have restarted, rebuild, repaired everything. I have tried swapping USB ports and Cables on the external. I have tried any and all discs I have in different brands and formats, all media that has worked no problem in the past. I use Lacie Lightscribe Labeler and that app is also hit or miss on pulling up the external, but when it does it will go ahead and label the disc without any issue. I try using Disk Utility to burn and it will recognize the internal and the disc in it but after starting the burn it errors citing a possible incompatible disc. I found if I unplug the OWC drive then the app will open but still error out if I choose the internal. I try using NTI Dragon Burn and get the same thing as to where it does not want to allow the OWC as an option, quit/reopen may hit or miss show the OWC and if I choose it the app freezes, I force quit and then reopen and then the icon just bounces in the dock endlessly. Only allowing the internal optical drive, so I put a disc in there, get it set and click burn and it starts to go and then errors saying "write error: sense key = medium error or illegal request". I primarily use Toast (current version) and a OWC external drive, Toast now reacts to the OWC as the plague and will not recognize it as a drive to choose. The same operation that worked fine the day before now can not be done despite all my attempts and searching. Nothing I can think of has changed at all to my system for installs or new hardware or the such but yesterday my computer started erroring out, freezing, or flat out not recognizing when I want to burn a disc. I hope I am posting this in the right place.
